Terms of Service

Last updated 7 September 2026

The short version: these apps are made by one person, in their spare time, as local-first tools with an optional one-time Pro unlock. There's no subscription to us, no guarantee of any specific uptime or support, and no liability for what happens with the third-party subscriptions, warranties, or other things an app helps you keep track of.

What these terms cover

This page applies to every app published by Essentia Tech — CardKeeper, RenewOrNot, WarrantyKeeper, NoteKeeper, Recipe Clipper, and any future app. By installing or using an app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the app.

Free and Pro

Each app has a free tier with a usage limit (for example, a maximum number of items tracked), and an optional one-time Pro purchase through Google Play Billing that removes that limit and unlocks extra features. There's no subscription, no recurring charge, and no Essentia-Tech account of any kind.

Refunds are handled entirely through Google Play's own refund policy. We don't process payments ourselves and can't issue refunds directly — see Google Play's refund help for how to request one.

Reminders and notifications

Some apps (for example RenewOrNot's renewal reminders, or WarrantyKeeper's expiry reminders) send local notifications to help you act before a date you've entered. These reminders are provided as a convenience only, on a best-effort basis, and are not guaranteed to arrive. Android itself can delay, suppress, or block them — through battery optimization, Do Not Disturb, notification permissions being off, the app being force-stopped, or other device/OS behavior outside our control.

You remain solely responsible for managing, renewing, and cancelling your own subscriptions, warranties, and other commitments with third parties. We're not liable for any charge, missed deadline, late fee, or other loss that results from a reminder not being delivered, delivered late, or delivered incorrectly.

Changes, discontinuation & support

These apps are maintained on a best-effort, unpaid-time basis. We may change, limit, or discontinue an app, or stop providing updates and support for it, at any time and without notice — including a Pro feature or the ability to purchase Pro.

Because every app is local-first, an app you've already installed keeps working with your existing data even if we stop maintaining it; only future updates and support would be affected. Discontinuing an app doesn't entitle you to a refund beyond whatever Google Play's own policy already provides for that purchase.

No warranty

Each app is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including, to the extent permitted by law, any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that an app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of defects.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Essentia-Tech is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of an app, including lost data, lost savings, or missed payments — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to the amount you paid for the app's Pro unlock (or €0 if you used the free tier).

Nothing in these terms limits liability for something that can't legally be limited, such as damage caused by intent or gross negligence, or excludes any statutory consumer right you have under the law that applies to you.

Your content

Everything you enter into an app (card details, notes, subscriptions, recipes, and so on) stays yours and stays on your device — see each app's Privacy Policy for details on what's stored and where. You're responsible for keeping your own backups; see each app's export/backup feature.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. This doesn't take away any consumer protection you're entitled to under the mandatory law of the country you live in.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the update will be posted on this page with a new date above. Continuing to use an app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
